    HOw I FIx the the CPU reported by XP???

    I just finished downgrading my Sony FZ340 to XP and everything works perfect EXCEPT I noticed the processor says it is a T7250 @ 2.00Ghz instead of the T7700 the unit has.
    I can not figure out how to change it!!
    HELP PLEASE!!!!! :confused:

    Update your Bios and see if that works.

    Are you getting this information from system info in the control panel or program like CPU-Z?

    We had a similar problem a while back but it was never resolved :( I'm guessing you installed the wrong driver for your cpu. Use cpu-z to check what speed you are running at.

    windows says it is a 7250 @ 2.0ghz when it is a T7700 @2.4 ghz

    I have searched ALL over (intel site too) where can I find the correct driver

    has anyone downgraded a FZ340 to xp and had CPU speed and type reported by xp correct??

    Try installing the XP multi-core patch.

    Just uninstall the CPU from the device manager and re-start your laptop.

    I have tried to install new drivers
    tried to install the "patch" windows said I already hvave an updated one installed.
    Also uninstalled cpu and rebooted

    NO LUCK.
    Anything else???
