    Hello all,

I found the information that SZ video card Geforce Go 7400 has integrated TV Output, which is shown at the end of the comparison table:
    http://www.nvidia.com/object/purevideo_geforcego_comparison.html

As we know, Sony did not make it available on SZ440.

Do you have ideas about hacking this output? Find the output terminals on the PCB and soldering a S-Video cable would work, I guess, but I do not have a clue about doing that.

Intel onboard graphics may have the output as well, and that would be easier to find if we find another NB brand that actually uses it.

    Thanks again!

I don`t think its a good idea to fiddle around with the electronics on the SZ considering the repair premium Sony charges. Why not buy a VGA->TV converter or TV with VGA input? Sony maybe removed the port since the SZ is a ultralight notebook.

that vga to s-video adapter will not work, because vga is analog and s-video digital, so we need a converter

My guess is that the S-Video circuitry isn't even there. They have to sacrifice something in order to make it that small...

Thats exactly the point: S-Video Output is included in DB15 VGA Connector for some graphics card.
This leads to a very low coast solution, which just adapts VGA to S-video without making any conversion (as the card already delivers digital on some pins).

Has anyone tryied this low coast converters with Go 7400? I read so many posts here but did not find anyone that actually tryed that.

    Thank you

you're better off getting an hdtv that has dvi/vga input
