Will Sony G Sensor Shock Protection still work if I upgrade my hard drive from Seagate 5400.3 to Hitachi Travelstar 7k200? I have SZ381P.

I upgraded to a Hitachi 7K200 and the HDD protection util hasn't shown any errors. I guess the protection works buy cutting power to the HDD to stop it spinning so in theory it should work with any HDD.

I thought the protection worked by disengaging the reading arm from the disk itself Oo
