Unfortunately my Vaio Z died (unfortunately ran into some water and only after 4 months after the 1 year warranty ended. This was also 2 weeks before finals so I was forced to buy a new computer.

My Vaio Z starts up gets to bios, (sometimes to OS boot and one time to login) then just shuts off. I don't think can fix the problem, however I need the files one there. My Vaio Z had 64x2 SSD drives.

1.) Will I need any special connecters? I have an SATA -> USB cable.
2.) What would be the best way to image the drive since its in RAID?

Sorry to hear your Z was damaged by the spill. Recommend to do regular backups to minimize loss and recovery hassle if something breaks in a computer.

The best way IMO in your case would be to put your drives with respective optional mSATA adaptors into a Intel-driven desktop that supports Intel Rapid Storage Technology RAID0 (Series-5 or 6 chipset are best suitable). Disconnect all other drives from the SATA ports and only connect the two SSDs. The RAID setup should be detected. Don't boot from the SSDs as you have a different hardware then. Boot with a BootCD like Hiren's and backup your files to a USB drive.

Alternatively, you can get another Z12 or Z13 and plug your drives into that to backup your data.

    Good luck!
