So after breaking and then fixing my laptop over these past few months, I am left with the following problems that I hope you guys can help me diagnose. Sorry for all the threads I've posted - hopefully this is the last one with regards to my repairs. XD

    1. The screen does not turn off when the lid closes. Is there some mechanical function that shuts it off that I screwed up?
    2. Near the AC jack, there is this black plastic strip with a squared edge sticking up. It seems like it's supposed to hold wires down. Anyone know what this is and where it goes?
    3. When I tilt the right side of the laptop down, there is a chopping sound, like something is being cut by the fan. What's the easiest way to investigate this? When the laptop is opened up, I can't find the problem.
    4. When I boot the laptop, there is an error screen that says one of the SSDs has an error. But it doesn't give an option to find out what the error is about. It just annoyingly shows the screen everytime I start it, but everything works fine (for now). This is a photo I took of the error when it happened a few months ago (the drive eventually failed and Sony replaced it):

for #1, there's supposed to be a magnet in the top of your screen (near the camera) that lines up with a magnet sensor in your palmrest that tells the laptop the screen is closed, you probably forgot to put it back.

for everything else, I'm not sure (except #3 is it a loose fan?)

    3. check for any movement (especially cables) linked to the movement of the lid. The condition you describe is dangerous - the fan will eventually wear through whatever it is touching, or vice versa. Don't ignore it.

    2. may be the cause of 3. Probably for cable dressing.

I just opened the screen up and it looks like the magnet is missing. It probably fell out when I replaced the LCD. Is there a mickey mouse way of making a new one or should I just order the magnet for 7 bucks?
