Has anyone had any issues with the F12, similar to the ones encountered in the F11?

I am interested in purchasing a UK Model Sony Vaio VPC-F12S1E/B, but I am concerned that there may be similar issues with it, to the ones which I and many others encountered with the F11 Series. I did have 2 F11S1E/B, followed by a F11Z1E/BI, but they all had to be sent back for the same reasons, which were annoying fan noise, the screen image seemed to be over to one side, the bezel around the screen wasn't flat, leaving a gap and it didn't seem to fit properly, there was also an annoying buzzing sound coming from the bottom of the screen. What I would like to know is, if these issues have been fixed in the F12 Series.

I had F127FX few days ago Driver/Bios updates could not fix the high-pitched noise nor the weird fan-kickoffs.

I did a clean install with sony drivers and just few adobe software on it. fan kicks off when I had one IE poped up. I could just ignore it not like its too loud, but what I couldnt not stand was the high-pitched noise comming from the keyboard or motherboard.

I just had to return it >_>

Got a VPC-F12C5E (UK/EU custom model) and I get the annoying fan. The fan also makes this pulsing, high pitched sound when the computer is in various idle states but it disappears when the computer goes to sleep or when the fan speed cranks up to a certain level (it is not the same as the 'morse code' noise some folks complain about).

I don't get any buzzing from the screen. I don't understand what you mean by the screen being over to one side but it looks centered to me. The bezel is flat as far as I can tell. The only problem is the fan.

When you looked at the screen, instead of the gap being of equal size, either side of the screen, the gap was narrower on the left hand side of the screen.

When you say high pitched sound, do you mean like a whistling/whirring sound, that alternates when the fan increases, then decreases in RPM?

Yes its a bit like a whistle. I thought it was the infamous c4 state noise inherited from the c2ds but every youtube recording of that noise is vastly different to what I hear. That sounds like random blips and screeching.

The noise I get is like a slow smooth, sine wave that slowly pulses and goes quiet. It keeps doing this until my usage activity changes. If I let it idle long enough to go to sleep, the noise stops. If I open some programs and do stuff, the fan speeds up and the noise disappears. I'll try and take a mic to it tonight. It may be the fan but it sounds too high pitched to be a mechanical resonance.

Thanks for your help. From what you are saying, the noise that you are hearing sounds very similar to the noise made by the fan in the F11 Series, in which case, I don't know whether I am going to bother getting one, but if you could do a recording of the sound and upload it, it would be much appreciated. It's a shame really because I know that it has nothing to do with the processor being a core i7, as I had a HP DV7-3020EA, which had a core i7 720QM and that was fairly silent, but that did have fans that ran constantly, and it did weigh a ton as well.
