    Has anyone installed XP on the TXN25 and up?

    Hmm, I'm pretty interested in this as well. I just keep hearing that installing XP on any Vista preloaded Vaio right now is a real @#(%$.

    If you have a clean install image of your TXN17 it would work perfect on your TXN27.

    You can also do a fresh WinXP install and install everything else pretty easy. Download the stuff for TXN15/17/19 and start installing it in the proper order. I recommend that you use the video/wireless/lan/chipset drivers from intel.com. Anything that screams that the model is no the same, create a file called model.txt in c:\windows and type in only Model = "VGN-TXN25P". Then save the file but leave the text editor open (use edit in dos). That will keep the file open and the sony drivers won't overwrite the file during install.

    A couple of hours down the road you will have a fresh XP install. This might work for some time now, until they change the physical design/button allocations and the wireless configuration (WWAN). As far as the rest of the drivers are concerned, these are pretty generic.
