I own a Sony SZ7 and i have been having problems upgrading from Vista Business to Vista Ultimate. I have not done a clean install so i still have the Sony OS recovery software on my laptop. I also would prefer to keep this as well.
If anyone has upgraded then i know that it is not Sony that have caused these difficulties for me.

Do a clean install and everything will work just fine. You can download everything you need from the sony support site (drivers I mean)

You've probably got it sorted now.

But if you want to do a clean install on an SZ7 you can get all the drivers and utils from my SZ7 post.

I had the exact same model as you and all the utils worked 100%

Thanks, i got there in the end.
I did a fresh install but the problem was caused by something else i think. I bought the Ultimate steal deal from Microsoft but when i went to download it later i was missing the file i needed and i never realised. They ended up sending me the correct link via email and it worked after that.

Btw, Vista Business i find boots a little quicker than Vista Ultimate. It is understandable really though given that one OS is more resource heavy than the other.

Btw, with Windows 7 being released maybe later this year i am kind of regretting a little upgrading to Vista Ultimate because i will upgrade to Windows 7 as well.
