    Hi there,

I am interested in purchasing the following laptop: Sony Vaio VGN-FW21L

This laptops has HDMI and a blu ray player. It has a sticker on it saying that it can go upto 1080p. THe max resoltuion on the laptop screen isn't 1080p but apparently you can increase the resolution once its connected to a tv. My question is that my tv is 1080i, what would happen if I set the resoltuion on the laptop to 1080p whilst playing a blu ray movie from disk? Would it work? Would the laptop include a 1080i setting as well? If I download a 1080p movie in mkv, would I be able to "downscale" it to 1080i?

    Cheers,
