I've purchased a double capacity battery(not original) for my Vaio VGN- SZ120P. When I start the notebook I get the following window with a message which I'm unable to remove from the center of the screen. Any help as to how to overcome this problem will be greatly appriciated.

Just taking a guess here... But since you say this is not the original (i.e. Sony) battery, and since the screen says that the battery may be incompatible with the laptop - it probably means that the generic battery is incompatible with the laptop. I'd say, see if you can return it - since you can't sell it not knowing whether or not it works.

If I misunderstood and by "not original" you don't mean generic, but instead mean, Sony battery that did not come with your laptop, and if nothing listed in the manual works, I suggest you call Sony. Doesn't matter if you have warranty on the laptop or not since you need support for the freshly purchased battery, not your laptop.

Try to use the search command, sometimes can find answers without needing to ask.

Here's the thread that will help you.

Battery topic and how to get generic to work

Basically remove the ISBMgr.exe file from loading and that should solve your problem.

Thanks for your repy. I meant it's a generic battery not the original I got with the laptop which works just fine. Meanwhile I've found a solution to my problem. Go to "run" type "msconfig" and hit enter. Go to startup and disable ISBMgr.exe. That's all. Now the battery works with no problem.
