Hi, I'm new. My Sony Bluetooth mouse VGP-BMS33 works just fine with my Vaio AR590E. Amazingly, it instantly and automatically works even before I've entered my Vista password upon boot up when I re-launch Vista from cold. Awesome! It's as if it were wired! But here's where it gets really weird. If instead of a full shut down I put the Vaio in "sleep mode", upon re-awaking the mouse pairing is lost.I'd think it would be the other way around actually, but I'm hoping someone here might know how to remedy this. Sony Tech help was baffled as was the "expert" at the Sony Style store where I bought it from. One more clue, attempting to re-pair by clicking "re-connect bluetooth connection" when this happens seems thwarted by a "non-responding program" called "blah-blah-Toshiba-blah-Bluetooth-blah-ECCENTER.EXE" Whatever that is.
I did do a search for "bluetooth, mouse, sleep" here and found at least one other guy in a similar predicament, but no solutions. Sony and Vista are both updated, mouse came with no software, and the Vaio is AC powered. I assume battery powered would be the same. Anyone? Thanks for your help.

I can't really resolve your issue, but I think if there is no any bugs exist, see more through the bluetooth settings behind the short-cut icon on the taskbar.
just give this suggestion -
Did u try the latest Toshiba Bluetooth software 5.10.12?
http://aps.toshiba-tro.de/bluetooth/pages/download.php
the change log said "Standby/Resume issue fixed.". -
When I bring up that panel it says that Bluetooth is enabled!
If I invoke that panel, then disable bluetooth, apply, re-enable it, apply, then I'm back to normal. But that's a lot of rigmarole. If Vista can do what it needs to do to keep the pairing when fully powered down I don't see why sleep mode shouldn't have some yet even easier routine. Thanks though.

laptops though and lists which ones. It shouldn't matter though, right?

Make sure you set a system restore point BEFORE you do this!!! Or make a ghost image of the C: drive first. Point is HAVE A BACKUP plan in case this goes horribly wrong!!!!!!!

i have installed this toshiba own version on my fe and it works fine. but you have to back up TosBtChk.dll in the original toshiba folder in program files folder and replace the one after installed the new version. otherwise u will get a 30-day trial since it is intended for toshiba notebook only.

Success! Thanks everyone for your help.
I was hesitant to download the Toshiba Laptop version, especially since it looked like they intended it only for themselves and having to manipulate it so as to last beyond a 30 day trial period was a little beyond my skills, so I looked for a Sony specific alternative. It may not be as current as the Toshiba stack, but it seems to have cured my problem. For anyone else in the future finding this thread, here it is:
http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-download.pl?mdl=VGNAR590E&upd_id=2855&os_id=28
It oddly looked as if it was actually an older version than what I already had, but in truth once loaded you click Help, then About in the Bluetooth Settings pane to discover you now have version v5.10.08 (OS) as opposed to v5.10.04 (SO) before. That download page implies you'll be getting 5.0.1530.0Odd. Also no mention that the first step of removal of the old stack will be done and then you can re-load the whole shebang again. All it says as you first run the download is "Welcome to the Toshiba total removal bluetooth wizard. Continue?" (paraphrased) Luckily I've seen removal necessary before but usually you're at least told that's about to happen first and this thing didn't [remember, I'm a newb, please don't laugh. Think of me as your elderly grandfather!
