Ok so it was advertised that the duo 13 had an intel 4400 integrated graphics card.

But when I go check dxdiag, it says that my graphics card is: Intel(R) HD Graphics Family

Unless this is another name for intel hd 4400, does this mean there's something wrong with my graphics card? What I'm noticing is that my old desktop with intel graphics hd 3000 is running my games smoother than the duo 13

    Here's a pic of dxdiag

Intel HD Graphics should be correct,

if you want to be sure about your graphic card,

you can check your device manager, display adapters intel hd graphics, right click properties, details, hardware ids

    right click copy and

    paste your hardware ids here

    edit: as for games lag,

do you know that the TDP for this processor is 15 watts
if you are comparing it to your desktop 95 watts processor
15watts wont be able to beat 95watts processor

    for more technical detail
    Graphic speed
    Intel HD3000 speed is 850mhz
    Intel HD4400 speed is 200mhz

    Cpu speed
    i7-4500U speed is 1.8Ghz
    i7-2600K speed is 3.4Ghz

this link will compare HD3000(desktop) and HD4400(mobile)

    ARK | Compare Intel® Products

    edit:

    %iHSWGT2UT% = iHSWM0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0A16

confirmed that you have haswell Intel HD graphic 4400 (GT 2 low power)

    it's weird though.

Based on this link: Graphics — How To Identify Your Intel® Graphics Controller
    shouldn't it say Intel(R) HD 4400?

    Here's what mine say:
    Untitled1.png

I can see adapter string is intel hd 4400, but shouldn't it say that for the Adapter Type?

And also, shouldn't the device manager state I'm using a 4400 for the display adapter?

do you really want it to say Intel HD 4400 badly? I can help you write it there :)

Do you know that Sony SVZ1 has AMD Radeon 7670M written and sony VPCZ2 has AMD Radeon HD 6650M written?
Do you believe that they are different? Real answer NO.

Do you know I modded drivers? If you don't check my signature.
Do you know that Sony VPCZ1 has Intel HD graphics? but why do I see Intel Graphic Media Accelerator HD in my device manager?
    Simple Answer
    Code:
    iILKGM0.0     = "Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator HD"

I wrote it on my own.
