I recently got a Samsung SyncMaster 205BW LCD to plug into my SZ650. When I am on 'stamina mode' (the Intel GMA x3100) the screen looks great. However, when I am on 'speed mode' (GeForce 8400M GS), the screen looks really washed out. Like if I am looking at (normally) gray text on a white background, I can't see the text. Like the gray box around this text is white. However, if I drag this window onto my laptop screen, the color is normal. What do I do?

The colors are a little different, but you can see how there's less contrast on the left (LCD) than in the right (laptop).

I got it in-store from Best Buy (on sale :D).

On sale?...meaning it was a display model, or they just inflated the price and "put it on sale" at the original price, lol?

As far as I can tell, it looks like there isn't really much washing out of the picture...it does, however, look like the SZ is sharper and brighter due to the LED backlighting, but that's about it. LEDs tend to have that effect on a LCD screen, since the pure light on the XBRITE display adds a lot of definition.

I'd just chalk it up to the SZ having a better screen due to the LED backlighting, but you never know...I can be wrong. I have a similar Samsung monitor on my desktop and it looks about like this normally, but it all depends on what your monitor settings are and what the laptop/desktop settings are.

Did it look any better on a desktop or other laptop before the SZ?

That happens on my machine too. On the external screen, the color washed out. However there is a setting that you can play with to fix this. You can go to the NVidia control panel and adjust the desktop color setting. Good luck!
