    Good day,

    I'm looking for someone who had ever tried installing winXP 64-bit edition on a VAIO laptop.

    I owned a SZ5 and I'm trying to install Win2k3 x64 on it. So far I'm able to get most drivers installed and working properly on it except for the following:

    1. Sigmatel HD Audio Codec; so far I'd tried different versions but they're either refused to proceed during installation or showing problem (error code10) in device manager. Been looking for IDT driver 6.10.5713.0 ( 5.44mb instead of 19++mb) but no luck, the only source from versiontracker.com was dead;

    2. nVidia graphic driver; tried different versions of forceware driver and even the official release from nVidia website but the installer simply returned a "no compatibility hardware was found" message and terminated the setup;

    3. SonyPI; it gave me the most problem: when I have it installed before I install any other driver, no problem was shown until I shut down/restart the system -- the system was suspended everytime right after the logoff screen went off. This was resolved by uninstalling the SonyPI driver from device manager. Attempt to reinstall the driver will simply crash the system -- BSOD shown right after the driver files were copied into the system directory.

    Anyone having similar problem(s) as mentioned above? Please advise. Thank you.

    Have you tried installing the drivers manually?

    cheers ...
