Hello guys , i need to take out the keyboard in a Vaio VGN-TT250N for an urgent case , i have been through many forums searching for a service manual for this model or for any other model that comes with the (isolated) keyboard , the keyboard is not accessable like other notebooks , you have to rip the machine open to get this keyboard out ( at least that's what i think till now ) , i tried to disassemble the notebook but i couldn't get the trick to how to open it , and also iam afraid to break anything , i work in an authorized service center for DELL and i have a good background about notebook disassembly , but this one seems to be hard for me , if anyone can help me with instructions or a service manual it would be greatly appreciated...thanks!!! :)

You may want to try looking at the TZ. I'm not sure but they may be similar.

I've opened mine several time (to install SSD, then Raid SSD, replace the WWAN card, increase and replace RAM...) and it's fairly easy, just make sure you take note of screw lengths... best is to print the pictures from the site I gave you link to.

2 or 3 words of caution, remove battery first then even with all screws removed you may find that the left of the keyboard is hard to pull up, it's because you have to pull it up while at the same time pull out the left side bezel, they kind of get assembled at same time. The rear of the keyboard by the battery location is held by 2 protusions in the main frame, you have to push lightly on these to get it to disengage but that's not too difficult. have fun

thanks for the tips Philfree , i'll consider this when disassembling it , also this is the first time i know that the WWAN card is not built-in to the MOBO , is this true ? because i wanted to use it outside the US and in the specs it says " built- in " WWAN from sprint , if this card is removal then it's a great news , i can get the one i have in my DELL XPS M1330 and put it there. also one last question , is it easy to take the keyboard out of this assembly ? i mean only the keyboard without the palmrest . thanks

The WWAN card can be replaced but I own a European TT which is not Simlocked to any operator so it has a SIM holder which is not the case with US TT where the SIM is built-in the card. You could replace the card but to use it on other network than Sprint you would have to add the sim holder to your TT.

Removing the keyboard only from the assembly? What happened? I guess it can be done with some disassembly and should not be too difficult although there's a lot of stuff to remove before you can get to it...

I understand now why you want to take it off. Do you really want to print new characters on the keyboard key by key? I had once used on 2 different 12" Toshiba Portege stickers bought from this guy http://cgi.ebay.fr/RUSSIAN-CYRILLIC...66:2|39:1|72:1229|240:1318|301:1|293:1|294:50 they were really high quality stickers, the size was just a hair bigger than the keys and I just had to slighly trim them after installation with a razor blade, the stickers were totally invisible after installation

actually where i live it's hard to find a good quality stickers , also the printing is much better because you cannot distinguish between a keyboard that has the keys printed on it and a one that was shipped originally with your language on it from sony , that's why i want to do the printing , it will only cost me 10 USD , besides i get to learn how to disasseble my Vaio !!
