Would anybody be so kind as to walk me through how an external display is properly recognized with my SZ?I've got the SZ680, and four different monitors, and they all come up as a "Non-PNP Monitor" when I plug into the VGA port on the laptop.

I've tried both in Stamina and Speed mode, and get the same result. I've also tried plugging in the monitor before turning the computer on, and after Vista is loaded.

Running Powerstrip to get the EDID info is even more confusing, as sometimes it will read the correct EDID info, and sometimes it will say "Cannot read EDID info".

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    -Ryan

Yes, but one of my monitors is a an LCD and the 1920x1200 is a custom timing from the EDID. So I can't display it's native resolution.

My other problem is with the CRT - Diamondtron 2040U. It has a max resolution of 2048 x 1536, but I can only go up to 1600x1200.

So, I wouldn't mind except for the fact that two of my monitors don't work like I want them to....
