Hey guys, I purchased the new ony vai t13 about 2-3 weeks ago. The harddrive seems to make a single click noise every once in awhile, but not continuous clicking such as the "clickng of death." Despite this, I'm still a bit scared. However, I was thnking of upgrading to a 128gb ssd drive anyways.

This is what I want to use: Amazon.com: Crucial 128 GB m4 2.5-Inch Solid State Drive SATA 6Gb/s CT128M4SSD2: Electronics

The problem is, I don't have any idea on howto do it! I am completely new to this! Is there anyone who has knowledge on how to do the and can baby stepme through it ?

    Thanks guys!

Check out my videos in my signature. It should give you all the information about the laptop and removing the HDD.

@Jamerican, your video is very informative. But, i bought a brand new 128gb sdd. Are the steps still the same? Yours is just using the 32gb ssd for boot while keep the hdd. So am i supposed to put the 128gb ssd in, and also keep the 32 gb ssd in? Sorry im very new to this and really confused lol. Could you also provide links to the items that i will need. Thanks

It depends on your level of expertise in laptop disassembly and if you want to use your 32GB SSD for booting or your 128GB SSD for booting. If you follow my 4th video and do some google searches, you should be able to figure it out. The 32GB SSD does not have to be removed from the laptop to install Windows on the 128GB SSD since it does not have a partition table on it.

I dont have any expertise in laptop disassembly lol. I'm also not sure if I want it to boot off of the 32gb ssd or 128 ssd. What's the difference? I'm pretty sure I can remove and replace the hdd with the ssd on my own. Can you link me to the equipment I need to buy to do this? I don't want to do it the cd/dbd burner way

edit: I guess I'l jst boot from my 128gb ssd, and leave the 32gb inside. So I guess what I need to know is, after i open the laptop, remove th hdd, and put in the 128gb ssd, what must i do next to get mylaptop back to normal? I don't know if i should follow your video because its pretty diffeent.

I order this laptop yesterday and its coming.

I plan to put a 500gb SSD (7mm) on it and install a retail W7 on it. It is easy to do right?

    mine opinion:

    make recovery disk
    replace ssd
    restore back from dvd's
    disable defrag and index service

    uninstall some non-impotent program

I plan to put in a new SSD. Just save the current hd that came with it so it will always work and no need to do recover image?

Can I blow the 32gb cache away?

I read I need to disable the RAID?
