I know this Architecture student notebook topic has been well covered, but I'm a 4th year student, and have a good idea of what I need and what I can do without

First point I have to make is that I am on a very specific budget, which cannot exceed €750

As you can imagine I spend much of my time using Photoshop, Sketchup, AutoCAD, Rhino, often all at the same time, so I need a good display.

I would like to know in both cases what is the capacity for upgrading the RAM and would like some feedback on build quality, performance, etc.

My choices at the moment are as follows:

    Vaio E17

    Intel Core i5-3210M, 2.5GHz
    Windows 8
500 GB Serial ATA (5400 rpm)
    8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3-SDRAM
    DVD disc drive
    43.8cm LED 1920x1080 + webcam
    AMD Radeon(TM) HD 7650M 2GB

    €696.56

    or

    Vaio 14p

    IntelCore i5-3210M,2.5GHz
    Windows 8
    Gun Metallic
    35.5 cm LED, 1600x900+webcam
    AMD Radeon HD 7670M 1GB
500 GB Serial ATA (7200 rpm)
    4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3-SDRAM
    DVD disc drive

    €715.17

I'm a little bit curious as to why the 14p is more expensive, it looks like a great laptop but I'd like some information on it. I like the idea of the faster hard drive and upgraded graphics card, but would like to get as much bang for my buck as possible.

    Thanks in advance.
