    :confused: :mad: How can I complain about my Sony Vaio VGN SR 26GN S/N S01 7002113 which I purchased about a week ago from Sony Centre, Kelapa Gading Mall, Jakarta, Indonesia ? My Name is Toni Tandra, Vila Gading Indah, Kelapa Gading, Jakarta. [email protected], [email protected]

    I found out that something is wrong with my brand new Vaio, the body of the Vaio can't stand still when start typing. After i checked, i found out that the bottom part of my Viao casing is Not balance, Not all 4 corners of the bottom casing touch my desk.
    So I complain to Sony Showroom where I bought it , apparently all sony VGN SR 25GN and SR26GN have the same problem !!

    Now, the problems become mine :
    - They said nobody except me complain about the "Cripple" casing, because all Vaio SR 25GN and SR26GN type have the same problem, they indirectly give me the impression that it is what Sony make, i should just trust Sony and accept it ! They said Sony Indonesia's Policy doesn't give refund after 1 day of purchase and they blame me for not to check it carefully before I pay.

    I really disappointed, I said :
    If I have to check casing and other things everytime i want to buy a Vaio, that I think is A MINIMUM STANDARD for a notebook to have, I will not consider buying sony product ever again ! What for choose Sony if I suspect something is going to be wrong with the product. Everybody knows, Sony product is more expensive than other brands of the same class, because Sony used to give Quality and Very nice design. Actually most of my electronic equipment and gadgets are Sony !

    Why Sony still sell the Vaio SR25GN and SR26GN type if there is a problem with the casing/body, I am sure Sony Quality Control or Quality Assurance know about this problem. Even in their showroom where i bought my Viao, on the Display unit, they put a folded paper under 1 of its corner to make the Vaio balance ! They knew it for sure that the Vaio is "Cripple" ! I said to them people can accuse them for trying to cheat their customer by selling rejected product like this.This is not a simple matter, for me it is really annoying to have a notebook that can't stand still when I am using it, especially i already paid a lot more for the product !

    Well, after a few days and long arguing, at last they give me some options but still can't refund my money :
    1. They can try really to repair the Vaio, but they can't guarantee that.
    2. Offer me to replace my Viao with other Sony product in the showroom.

    I tried to find another Vaio for the replacement but they don't have other 13" type, others are too small or too big for me, after check on their other showroom, they offer me a Vaio SR25GN that is not too "Cripple", i don't have any other but to accept it even the spec is not I want. But what made me angry is they don't want to refund about 200$+ different and ask me to choose their other product to cover the balance ! I feel like they try to sell their Sony product in the showroom anyway they can, they can't afford to loose money, they don't care anything else other than emptying their showroom fast, maybe they think Sony product is hard to sell these days, so they forced me to use the $200+ to buy their products! I really don't know ! What I know is, This is not my fault ! I just feel unfair, like being cheated by buying cheap product !
    I said, I will try to complain to the Credit Card company I used for prchasing the product and do my best to spread the news about their service to their customer.

    Write to the manager of the store and also to the sales manager of Sony in Indonesia to complain about your poor customer experience.

    It is a rip-off that they aren't refunding the difference in price. Take them to the cleaners!

    I haven't heard of a "crippling" SR notebook before. Hope they aren't selling "stuffed up" stock from the production lines.
