    Dear community,

    The VAIO Z3 owner's thread is closed, that's why I post here.

    I'm using a Z3 as my daily driver, since almost a decade now (still not written off), and it looks like the CMOS battery finally reached end of life. Time and date reset every time I switch off the laptop. The problem is, I can't find the battery.

    I know how to remove the bottom plate as I clean the fans every few years, but a CMOS battery is nowhere to be seen.

    Any help in this matter is highly appreciated

    Hi. I'm pretty sure, given the VPC2 which I just took apart is nearly the same machine mechanically, that the battery is underneath the left speaker. It fits neatly hidden under it, which is why you can't see it.
