Did you manage to get Vista Business installed on your S59GP. I have mine up and running, but the battery doesnt seem to go off charge.

Other than that all seems to work,

    Hi thinkcast
Thanks for responding. I have not installed Vista yet. By the way, mine is VGN-S58GP while yours is S59GP. I realy don't know the diffrence between the two! In Sony website, they have upgrade option for many of the modles, but unfurtantely, nothing for S58GP. I am not sure they will provide it coz it is almost two years old.

the S58p and S59pp are almost identical except for a few minor specs, just use the drivers for the S59GP. I have upgraded my S5 to Vista and except the brightness adjustment everything works fine.

    hi,

i have upgraded my s58gp from xpp to vista business without issue only except the brightness. Do you have any patch on this? I can accept if I can switch to lowest brightness instead of the max bright.

Do you have any work around as it is just too bright?

    Thanks.

    :(

Nope sorry I haven't figured out a workaround for that one. Its really killing my battery life too, but I guess we will just have to wait until Nvidia releases a driver with the Mobility Center activated..

Is your VGN-S58GP an Europian or American or Asian model?
Pls provide me with a link to the support website of ur model.
I have the VGN-S580P but VAIO drivers are universal.
So make sure the following are installed and in the following order:

    Sony NC 6002

    Sony PI 703820

    Sony Shared Library 300010180 restart

    Sony Utility DLL 700011210

    Setting Utility Series 200011270

    VAIO Event Service 300013110 restart

Then download modded forceware 158.45 beta here http://s8.quicksharing.com/v/2419949/158.45.rar.html
    Extract and run setup.exe
Setup will remove all previous forcewares, restart and resume installation
    Pls post feedback...

    Hi surefire
Please accept my apology for not following up the issue as I was in long term assignment. I really don’t know the model of my notebook if it is Europian, American or Asian model. I belief the site for support is http://www.css.ap.sony.com/VAIO/ap/VU30Upgradeinfo.htm. Appreciate if you guide me through the steps. I.e. do I install the list of drivers first, and then install Vista? Is it going to upgrade my system or do I have to do fresh installation?
    Thank you for the help.
