    Hi there,

please help with my built-in web cam on my Vaio SZ370P.

My cam has disappeared and I don't know how to get it back without getting service from Sony. I already have restored my C: drive with the VAIO restore procedure.

Using the procedure in this link I could see that my Cam is "disconnected", but I can't deal with this because it's a built-in camera.

The message is the image attached: "Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)".

Anyone with the same issue? Is my cam really damaged?

Thanks in advance and forgive English errors.

If you have not yet tried it, uninstall the camera device in device manager, also try reinstalling the driver. Make sure the Windows Image Acquisition service is running also.

    Hi leadweight,

thanks for the reply. I've restored my C: drive from recover DVD, so there are no chance of wrong drivers. But, I tried your tip with no success.

I'm seriously thinking this is a hardware failure. But it's really really strange for a notebook that never met the floor... :)

    Thanks again
    Leonardo

Deactivate all USB-Devices and reactivate them after a reboot.

    Hi TinyRK,

you mean deactivate USB controllers? How to do it in Windows? Device Manager?

    Thanks again.
