I just purchased a western digital 2.5 inch external USB drive. According to the documentation Windows XP/Vista is supposed to have native drivers for this hard drive. However, my SZ-330 which is running XP will not recognize the drive, but my wifes HP that is running Vista will run the drive. Does anyone know if the SZ's provide enough power to run these kinds of drives, and if so, any idea where I could find some drivers, as western digital does not have any drivers available.

    Thanks

I never had problems seeing USB HDD through my SZ.

    1) click “Start” then "Run"
    2) type "diskmgmt.msc"
Do you see it there? Maybe you need to "Enable" it?

    Also try another USB port.
When you plug the external to the USB does the power lights come?
Does the drive make noise? What kind of noise? Clicking? Smooth spinning?
