Is anyone having this problem? i got a SZ740 the thing is. i don't have all the orginal stuff that came with sony. I have a fresh install of 64 bit windows with nothing on it. but I installed the Chipset drivers right from Intel it self...
welp the symptoms:
Harddrive light is always on and blinking and if it doesn't cash.. it stays on nearly and blinks occationally.
After the system crashes and comes back up it gets the error "Blue screen crash" or whatever.
but the weird thing is.. my system works fine in speed mode with the Nvidia 8400M GS working completely fine... but i sorta want this system to work in stamina mode so i can go around with it more and having the batteries lasting alittle longer.
any suggestions of what to do? Did i get the drivers? I have the Intel GMA X3100 ingraded i thought... but on the Intel website i only found the GM965 drivers thats the same thing right?

If you can get what the blue screen says (specifically the file name), we can find where the problem lies.
I recall reading that the latest Intel graphics driver causes data corruption, and this may be the case with your SZ crashing. -

Fixed it! welp all i had to do was actually reinstall it.
I guess it didnt totaly install the first time because it sorta crashed because the screen went blank. so each time i restarted it. the drivers would not be found completely.
after the reinstall and restart up. it finished installing completely the second round and now its having no problems with it.
BTW... wow.. the 8400M GS is ALOT better then this thing.. the x3100 can barely even play Source engine
looks like i'll just be using the x3100 when i really need the battery to last.
Help. system is crashing in Stamina mode but fine in Speed
