Hey guys I'm a total noob and not at all an expert so I need some help. I want the TZ-195 but now that they have the 64GB SSD will they release a TZ with a 64GB SDD and a dvd drive? (I dont want the TZ-198 cuz I' rather have a dvd drive than a hard drive) I figured since they are constantly upgrading the TZ, are there any rumors of new tz's with 64GB SSD's, dvd drives and perhaps slightly faster processors anytime soon? Or should I just bite the bullet and get the TZ-195 and add a 32 GB expresscard? Will the 195 run fast once I uninstall the bloatware? (I just uninstall through control panel right? or do I have to reinstall Vista?) Also final question, does anyone actually have the TZ-195? Any opinions on this configuration? Thanks in advance for taking the time to read my many many questions![]()

There's at least one person here with a TZ195. Expresscard SSDs are not nearly
as fast as a "true" one. A 1.33ghz C2D processor will be released December 30th, probably see it in a TZ refresh in Jan.
I bet we'll see a TZ199N/XC with 64gb SSD and DVD. -
prepare to cut off your arm and leg for that on in december.

So there might be one with a dvd drive and 64 gig ssd? My only other issue is I don't want to paymore than 3500 USD, will is be alot more than that? And it won't be released until january? also rahul what do u mean by "true" ssd? like one built into the pc?

).
As far as ExpressCard, it NOT going to be faster than a USB drive. Intel designed the ExpressCard slot to run either USB 2.0 (480Mbps) or PCIE (2.4Gbps) mode. All the express card SSD sold today are made to run USB 2.0 interface instead of much faster PCIE. So the SSD performance is limited. I guess they do that so it can be used as superfetch device and its less complex to design.
To give you a real world idea. ExpressCard SSD read at 15Mps and write at 3Mps, while SATA SSD hard drive read / write around 60Mps. -
Hey guys,
In Japan (conics.net and pricejapan.com) they are already offering a model with 64 GB SSD+DVD. So, nearly will come in US and Europe. The next refresh is the real question...1.33 ghZ, Santa Rosa, X3100 will be the perfect laptop. But if InTrigger will have successfull results with the WWAN built-in I will order TZ91 right now...Can't wait anymore!! -
If I am using the express card to just store music that is accessed through itunes and photos whouldnt it be okay, or would the music like skip/need to buffer when being read from the card?
Hey, I Need Advice in regards to the TZ laptops
