Which version of Windows are you running. If it's XP then just got to power settings in the control panel. Also, have you updated any drivers lately?

Yes I am running winXP Pro with SP2. I don't see any option when I go to Control Panel -- power option . I have following Tabs in power option

    Advanced
    Power Schemes
    VAIO Power Management
    Alarms
    Power Meter

I didn't update any driver lately myself.

Before you do any change do a clean shutdown and restart. Once you are back to desktop check if the Hibernate option is enabled or not.

If nothing is really changed and Hibernated was functioning normally before, you should get it back with clean shutdown/restart.
