I've heard numerous comments about a high pitched noise emitted from the FZ models. Can anyone confirm whether or not this is just the 190 models? Or perhaps just the Intel T7300 processor?

I'm curious, because I'm planning on purchasing a FZ140 soon, and I want to know if it will sing for me. :)

If it makes noise, you can just hit it. That's what I do.

In all seriousness, you can look at Sony models in many major big-box stores like Best Buy, Fry's, etc. Get a feel for what you want, and the decibel level of the noise it makes.

Once in a while mine makes a high pitch voice ( I have no idea why ) but it is usually like 1-2 secs.

Mine has an issue where the fan goes up to medium then to high and then back every second. Keeps doing that no matter what. Also accompanied by a high-pitched noise that persists whenever the wireless internet is connected. Apparently my variety of noise can only be fixed by replacing the motherboard...and what really sucks is that I have to send it back and it will take them FIVE WEEKS to send me another one. I have to send the notebook back (6 days), they have to refund my card (7-10 days, according to them...wtf?), then I have to configure and order it AGAIN.

Why wait five weeks?. Just go ahead and order a new one from sony style. Your money will be refunded anyway.
