Just got my new Z3, and the audio using earphones is unbelievably bad. Clearly all low end has been stripped from the sound.

I'm using Etymotic hf3 earphones. Plugged them into my iPhone and played the same song and the difference is immediately obvious.

Is the earphone jack meant to be used with the supplied earphones only?

Can anyone else with a Z3 and iPhone and good quality earphones try it out and report here?

FYI I tried it with and without Dolby Home Theater enabled, and all 3 audio modes. All missing the low end.

Missing the high end as well? I experienced something similar with my TF10s and Vaio Z1. Seemed to be some sort of impedance mismatch.

Though, make sure that it's plugged in properly as well just in case.

High end is fine, a little too shrill in fact. Just completely no low-end at all.
