How can I 'lock' or permenantly enable the "Fn" key on S series laptop keyboard?

I want to be able to have my F1 - F12 keys preform their useful abilities (lower/raise volume, change screen brightness, zoom, disable trackpad) without needing to also strech my hand down and hold the Fn key at the same time. Is there a way to lock the key, or permenantly enable it? I have tried holding down Fn and Num/Scr locks, checked the Bios settings, and tried Sharpkeys for keyboard re-mapping.

Does anybody know how to do this?

I have a second and somewhat unrelated question too, does anybody know any software to install on Sony laptops to add, modify or mod the Alps trackpad, specifically to add new gestures.

Thanks in advance for any help :D

I tried to do it too, but without success. :( For the volume, though, you can use 3RVX

Actually, I needed the page up/ page down controls, and I figured out that ctrl+up arrow and ctrl+down arrow worked just as well.

About the gestures, did you look at the settings already available? Double click the Synaptics Pointing Device icon in the system tray and go to the last tab and click settings.

    Thanks! :D

Cool program, is there anything for adjusting screen brightness or a trackpad on/off switch? Those are pretty much the next most important changes I would like to set up.

    That and the trackpad.

There is an app that disables the trackpad while you are typing. Give that a shot. TouchFreeze :)
