    Hello

I'm about to change the SO of my VAIO (VGN-FS730F) and I want to backup a beautiful screensaver that my VAIO has, I searched for it on: C:/Windows/System32 and i found it (.scr), however, it's a 235kb file, if I double click it, the screensaver opens, but I don't think saving that 235kb file will suffice to backup the screensaver because the screensaver that I'm talking about contains a movie (nature sequences, people, music, etc.) and for that kind of screensavers should be a 100mb file for minimum, so I hope anyone knows how to backup the hole screensaver.

It came with the VAIO, it's the default screensaver that the VAIO has.

Great. I think you can just copy the .scr file but I'm not sure if the graphics are internal or external. Come to think about it, I think the screensaver might be already installed and pre-integrated with the system and so you'd have some trouble backing it up so you might have to let this thread run a little bit longer.

    What screensaver is it?

In fact the 245kb file doesn't backup the entire screensaver, I saved the (.scr) with a USB flash memory, I copied it on the system32 folder, and tried to use it on a different VAIO, and it didn't work,

The screensaver is pre-installed with the VAIO, it's the default screensaver that the VAIO (VGN-FS730F) has and it's called "VAIO Original Screen Saver" and in the system32's folder is called: vaiomov.scr oh, and it's a 52kb file not a 245kb file.

Oh right interesting. Yeh I don't think you can back it up, short of copying your whole hard disk as a backup which seems a bit excessive. Can't you live without it or find somewhere to download it from?

Yeah right, isn't a problem, I just was trying to save it, that screensaver is great, but sure, I can live without it, anyway, thanks for the replies.

Did you check to see if it is in the Programs/Sony folder?

Maybe it retrieves specific images and movies in a certain folder?

Well, a sony guy told me that the VAIO original screensaver it's installed by default and can't be easy extracted, some codes are needed, and he'll pass it to me when he has it.
