I received my Vaio S170, PCG-6C2L. How can I tell if it has XTRABRITE? I don't notce that it's that different from my NEC LCD 1860NX. It doesn't seem to have the glossy screen surface that I saw at Fry's, for example.

Is there supposed to be a sticker or logo somewhere on the LCD that I can check? Thanks.

All Sony VAIO S laptops have an XBrite screen, so you definitely do have an XBrite.

That's wrong, it was possible to order a customized Vaio S170 without X-Brite directly from Sony-Style.com . If your LCD doesn't have the typical glossy finish, then it's very likely that it is only a Standard LCD.

Look for glare when the unit is off. Put it next to another laptop and look for the glare. Can't see a reflection on a non xbrite laptop.
