I've been tasked with fixing a Vaio VGN-270P that the backspace, delete, insert, prt sc, and numlock keys have all quit functioning. I talked to sony and they can get me a new keyboard for about $80. How difficult is this to replace? From the Users manual it looks like you remove 3 screws in the back, and then pop a couple latches off at the top of the keyboard. I imagine after that it's removing the keyboard and ribbon (gently) and reattaching the new one. Anyone had any experience with this? Anything to watch out for?
Thanks,

i did it on my t150. its not hard to get the new one out.
youre correct, just a few screws out of the bottom will release it, and you may have to use a small screw driver to release the tabs holding it down. i believe the tabs are located above the F3 and F9 keys, up at the top of the keyboard. i dont have my vaio here to confirm those locations. the tabs require very little force, dont scratch the case.
pay attention to the ribbon cable when youre removing the bad one.
the hardest part is getting the ribbon back into the slot. be gentle and careful.
on removal, i think it lifted from the top first (near the F1 keys, etc) and then the bottom (keyboard, arrow keys) slid out next.
reverse that for installation
