Does anyone know how to boot without having to enter a password for Protector Suite QL??

After a semi clean re-install of XP I installed TweakUI. Every time I reboot I have to either swipe my finger or CTR ALT DEL to enter a password.

If I check Auto Login in TweakUI and enter a password Protector Suite QL takes over at bootup and says I entered the wrong password, it is annoying to have to enter a PW evertime I restart. I am not worried about security as I have Lojack installed. If anyone were to steal my laptop I would want them to login and connect to the internet so Lojack could track it. If they couldn't login than they might have to format and re-install which defeats Lojack, I think?

Try going to Start... Run, entering "control userpasswords2", click on your username to highlight it, uncheck the box that says "users must enter a password". When you click OK, it will ask you to enter your password. Now, everytime you reboot it should auto-login the user.

    Mikey94025,

Thanks for the help. I like the shortcut you provided. I did try changing things like you suggested but it didn't work. The problem is Protector Suite QL (the fingerprint ID software bundled with the VAIO). It seems to be taking over the MS Windows default login in screen in order to add the fingerprint recognition at the boot level. I don't know how to control Protector Suite QL. There is a taskbar icon that I can access but there are no references to system boot. The thing is, I didn't have this problem before with my previous install. This weekend I did a complete overhaul of my SZ and everything is smoking fast again but I can't stand the boot process....

Swipe your finger to activate the PSQL menu. If it doesn't appear run the psqltray.exe file then swipe your finger again. Go to Control Center -> Settings -> System Settings and in the Logon section select "Standard Windows Logon" to disable the fingerprint logon.

    Bogart,

I think I found the problem? When I re-installed from the recovery DVD's I don't think it installed the complete version of Protector Suite QL. Here is my screenshot, am I missing something?

EDIT: After re-installing the Protector Suite QL software from the Sony website I now realize that I have a different version than you do. My version doesn't have the tab for Login. It seems that the version I have is "QL". I think the QL stands for quirky login, right?
