I have a Vaio VPCEB32FM and Vaio Control Center. I've uninstalled and reinstalled this thing so many times, but it doesn't seem to fix itself. I can't get into the Power Management part because it stops working before I can.
Is there another way to disable battery care within the system without using the program? Please help, I'm sick of my battery just charging to 80%.

Try uninstalling all the Sony stuff together - SFEP, Event service, Power management, etc. in reverse order and then reinstalling in the proper order.

That said, I feel the trade off that battery care gives you is worth it - you lose 20% battery capacity, but the battery lasts longer so you don't need to buy a new battery as often. I keep it at 50% most of the time. ;) When I need more backup, e.g. if I'm going on a trip, I charge to 80%, then go back to 50% as soon as I get back.
