How do I find pricing of Z in Singapore and Malaysia without being there?

Will swing by Singapore and Malaysia in about 45 days. I am curious about legitimate discounted pricing in those two countries. Anyone have any idea if they are similar?

Here would be my ideal config:

    1. 1080p screen (not 1600X900)
    2. 512 GB SSD
    3. i5 or i7 depending on upgrade pricing
    4. 4Gb RAM
    5. DVD drive (BD is nice but I think that's probably US$500 upgrade in Asia too.)

Would a unit like this be configurable in SE Asia, and what would a unit like this run?

The real reason for looking there is the lack of 1080p screen for CTO in the USA.

    Thanks,
    UL

Unfortunately, in asia only in China or Japan you can get the 512 SSD option or CTO.

don't know if i can post links but conics.net offers the japanese cto options and ships to US

again, not very cost effective; the lowest i could price the 1080p screen was at 2050 + ~$160 shipping
-- this had a 320gb HD with no optical drive

I'm hoping the 1080p screen eventually becomes a CTO option in the US, esp since the signature colleciton with the screen is sold out now

1080p is less than $60 upgrade at Conics - surprisingly low cost.

In singapore u can get the 117GG for 4.5k SGD but probably can bring it down to abt 4.2K+ after some bargaining. On top of that u can claim Tax refund, i think its 7%? that would work out to be 3.9K which is really cheap! (SGD600 discount!)

Unfortunately malaysia ran out of the 117GG and only has the 116GG.

Thanks! If that Singapore model could be the 512Gb SSD model, it would be perfect. The tax however, works only through the airport if I understand it correctly and not through the border driving into Malaysia.

    Thanks again!

It doesnt have the 512gb ssd BUT BUT BUT it is STILL quad raid. Means 4 x 64gb.. And correct, the tax thing only works if u travel out of the country by plane. So maybe u should reschedule ur flight.. land in singapore and drive to malaysia! get the laptop on ur way back leaving singapore to home. haha.

    The Z117 is S$4499
    The Z116 is S$3499
Both of these prices are negotiable
I plan on buying the Z117 in 2 weeks time on my way home to Phuket

I just come off the phone with my 3 contacts in Singapore and all of them are now saying they have NO stock of the Z-117. I sure hope that changes before I arrive there on Wednesday............. I am traveling through Dubai Airport , maybe they will have one there????
