I bought a Sony Vaio laptop from a Blue Ribbon Rentals store and I believe that they had installed the new Windows 7 Vista and restored the computer. However, the webcam does not work, so I have been trying to install the driver found on the eSupport Sony site, but I am having problems. First, I don't know if the model is a VGN-NS235J (what it says on the front below the screen) or a PCG-7145L (what it says on the bottom of the laptop by the battery). Second, there are no PCG-7145L drivers on the site, but there are VGN-NS235J drivers and i downloaded the webcam one and I go through and it says its going to take a few minutes to install then it just closes. Like it disappears. Then once I got it to go through and something popped up that said it was installed incorrectly and did I want to reinstall it with different settings and I clicked to reinstall it with different settings and then it said I had to be on Windows Vista, but I am on Windows Vista.
Can anyone help me please? Any help is greatly appreciated.

First: Your Vaio Model is VGN-NS235J.
Second: After reading your post, I still don't understand whether you have Windows 7 or Vista, but I guess it's Vista.
Third: You don't need to install drivers for the webcam, it is recognized perfectly by Vista or Windows 7. Why do you believe that it does not work? How did you test it?
Maybe your webcam is dead. -
How do I check if I have Vista or Windows 7?
I know it doesn't work because when I try to use it it says I don't have one.
How do I install the webcam driver on my Sony Vaio?
