    I have decided to just use the Intel Proset Wireless, but when I turn on my computer, the Microsoft Wi-fi manager turns on also. How do I only have it so only the Intel Proset turns on?

    Also when I turn on my computer it makes the plug and play noise, like half plugged in and then half of the noise is the removal noise of plug and play. Although I dont have anything plugged in.

    I guess I will ask this while I'm at it. Does anyone have any tips for reducing or totally removing the tremendous amount of lint that collects on this LCD? I clean it every so often but right after I clean it, there is a tremendous amount of lint back on the screen.

    Thanks!

    right clicking on the intel pro wireless and telling it to use the intel client should do it... as far as i know have to keep the microsoft client on your computer...

    as for lint i have no idea what you can do other than consantly wipe it or get one of those keyboard covers and always have it for quick cleans. I got the ultrasuede cover from www.tombihn.com and its thin and suedeish and gets the job done. I keep it covering the mouse pad when i have my mouse in so that i dont get those nasty palm wear marks on the palm rest :D but i can just as easily clean off the dust on the screen with it.

    Thanks for the information, I guess I will just let the Microsoft Wi-fi manager go. As for the screen, I can always clean it, but it annoys me after a while. Only when the screen is off and the reflection from the LCD you can see the lint. Ah I guess I can live with it. :)

    Not 100% sure if this will work, but it's worth a try.

    Go start -> run: services.msc

    Look for "Wireless Zero Configuration", double click on it, and change the startup type to "Manual". Reboot.

    This should prevent the windows config utility from initialising, and if some of it's functionality is required by the proset drivers, it will still be able to run in slient mode.

    Hope that helps :)
