Select the actual S1 or S2 button and a balloon message should pop up telling you to click that to change the button assignment, unless it's been disabled. Or, click on the VAIO Control Center application and that page will come up with the button settings on the control center page. There you select the options available in the drop down boxes. There are not a lot of options though from what I see but you can assign a customizable application to it. Hope that helps.

When you click what ? Go to the start menu and click on All Programs. Look for VAIO Control Center and click it. The last option of Special Buttons will allow you to configure the S1 and S2 buttons.

    Hi!
When I click S1 it makes the brightness level go down by like 5 level...
I do not have "Vaio Control Center" in start menu or when I do "search".

What Z series do you own ? Did you buy it new or used ? Have you done or has a clean install been done to the computer removing the Sony utilities? Have you been to http://esupport.sony.com to search for any software updates like " Original Sony Notebook Utilities " in the drop down selection of " Notebook Control Utilities " as an example ? VAIO Control Center 4.0.06120 is available here. And what happens when you select S2 ?
