    Hello,
    I have a Sony Vaio vgn-nr10e and i want to return it to factory settings, it has vista. I have been locked out of my administrator account from a virus which must have scrambled my password, I am using another account which doesn't have a password but it is a non-administrator account, I think returning it to factory settings will let me make a new administrator account so i can start again. Does anyone know how to do this?

    Alternatively, does anyone know how to recover my password for my administrator account?

    No disks at all came in the box my laptop came in.

    I'm not sure about older models, but you might try pressing F10 during startup to see if your vaio has a recovery partition?

    For vgn-nr10e that will be tapping f10 during boot up. For older model it's also f10 but older models that was manufactured before 2004 dont have this option because they dont have the hidden partition and that models came with recovery cd's
