I'd hate to get any scratches or marks on my Z lid and would really like to know what you've chosen as a solution.
Do you have a clear skin, certain design, special leather, or something else entirely?
Pictures would be cool, too!
Thanks a bunch!

He? And I thought I am fanatic!!!
As long as you are gentle and careful - nothing will happen... and IF - the only way not to get a single scratch is not to use it! It is there to be used...
I am using a neoprene sleeve for transportation of my S. That's a MUST for people who care about their laptops... -
I have a 3M invisible shield installed at a car tint shop (same stuff used on "clear bras"). I am going to do a writeup on it in a week with pictures because I'm going to get my hard case covered as well.
Stay tuned! -

Been using their carbon fiber skin, looks pretty good.
-
Does that CF skin have texture? Is it matte or glossy?
Either way it looks pretty sweet! -
-
Could you give us some pictures of your actual install of the skin, so we can see fit, thickness, etc.?
-
I treat my laptops with care & don't need silly skins and unnecessary peripherals.
When transporting my Z, I have a genuine VAIO Z leather pouch, the notebook fits snugly inside and it offers protection when on the move:

As careful as anyone can be, it's impossible for the palmrests, keyboard keys, and trackpad to not wear out over time unless you use an external mouse and keyboard.
-
trackpad and palmrests: use a protection film like described here http://forum.notebookreview.com/sony/478061-how-protective-film-application-z11.html -
The skin is very thin, like ~0.5mm. In terms of fit, it's slightly smaller in area when compared to the top of the Z's lid (in both width and height) -
Wow, looks great. Better than I expected. Did they send you a palm rest cover to go with it?

-
*drool* That SGP skin is so pretty.
Anybody got a coupon code?? -
EDIT: Nevermind, I just remembered I what stopped me from considering this the first time... mismatched trackpad and mouse buttons. Even thought the palm rest is a visibly seperate piece, the color wold have to flow with the trackpad's. -
