    How do you disable the "theme noise" with VAIO logo?

    Anyone with a Vaio- You know when you turn on your laptop it has the black screen and "VAIO" appears with a sound? (ti ta too tum) (hahaha) Well, how do you stop that from happening? It's a little annoying...

    OK, but I should have looked in the FAQ section before I even asked...

    All you have to do it press the F2 (or F10 on older models) button immediately after the animation stops, then you can disable the sound, animation, or both. It may take a few tries, or you can keep pressing F2 over and over again during the animation so you won't miss the chance.

    This is what I did-

    My Computer
    Control Panel
    Performance and Maintenance
    Sony Notebook Setup
    Initial Setting
    go to the bottom right and there's a show boot animation and I turned it off.

    BTW, anyone know how to turn the sound from windows off when it is starting?

    Go to Control Panel, Sounds and Audio Devices, and select the Sounds tab at top.

    Then scroll through Program events to Start Windows.

    The default is Windows XP Startup.

    Scroll through that to select (none)

    Or, hit the mute button on your laptop! :eek:
