    I just bought this one...

It came with Vista which, frankly, I don't want. I'd prefer having XP instead. I have the XP installation disk and everything, I've just never done this before.

Is it as easy as insert and run disk and there you go? And then what happens to the Vista?

1.) You insert the disk, and take it from there. You will lose all the data on the hard disk, so make sure to back up what you need. Windows is pretty easy to install, there are guides floating around.
2.) The trickiest thing is finding drivers and reinstalling everything you need in XP. Make sure that there are XP drivers available for your machine or you will be in a bind.

Hmm, how would I be able to find out if there are XP drivers available?

The question should be rephrased, "How difficult is it to install Windows XP..." :D

Anyway, DanyBui just posted an incredibly detailed thread on how to downgrade a TZ, just substitute all the right drivers, available from Sony's eSupport site, for the TZ ones and it should be relatively easy sailing.
