Hi,
I'm currently downgrading, as I write this, my Vaio SZ to XP using the Windows XP Professional disc that came with it. How good does it downgrade XP? Does it install most of the drivers that the computer needs to function properly excluding the Sony third party applications that are pre installed, AKA bloatware?

I'm pretty sure all the drivers will be installed. You might also get some of the bloatware. I reckon the only way to guarantee no bloatware is to do your own clean install... but then you need to install all the drivers and utilities in the correct order to get things like the Fn keys working.

I've just completed the Vaio XP downgrade, i'm about to format it again and do my own clean install. The downgrade disc does not install one driver at all. Its just a blank install of the OS. It is up to you to get the drivers and applications and install them yourself.

That's odd, and differs from what I'd read about the XP downgrade discs you get with TZs (at least in the UK).

yeh, Australia is a weird place. At least I get a free installation of XP :>
How good is the Vaio Windows XP Professional?
