I ordered a 15.5" S series that's currently on its way to my house. In buying a laptop I was interested in generally updating my system (as I'm currently typing on a 2008 CTL), and also with a mind to increase my gaming experience. On my current machine I can barely run Diablo 3 on low settings. I also wanted to stay under $1,000.

My question is: will the S series I bought with the following specs be able to run Diablo 3 on the highest settings?

    S Series 15.5" 1920 x 1080p
    -Intel i5-3210M processor
-4 GB RAM DDR3 (I am planning on buying another stick, at least 4GB more)
-NVIDIA GeForce GT 640m LE 2 GB
-500 GB Hard Drive 5400 rpm

    Thanks for your input =)

easyyyy. gt640m does 10k on 3dmark06. will easily max out starcraft 2, diablo 3,
civ 5 maybe, skyrim on high, etc...just turn down sometimes Anti-Aliasing because at 1600x900 you dont need 16xAA and filtering and stuff...

I'm glad you mentioned civ 5 because I was going to ask about that next. I have heard its pretty visually demanding. How would you recommend adjusting settings for maximum performance and enjoyment with this game? Any chance I will be able to run it on fairly good settings? I realllllly want to play it. It looks great!

so as long as you keep the graphics to reasonable settings (like medium @ 1600x900) then I think it should run reliably

however, the graphics shouldn't be your main concern as Civ 5 is really CPU intensive and your dual-core might be the bottleneck in your system
