The new Z is probably the only laptop that I would give my 13" MBP for. I'm glad Sony added a backlit keyboard but can anyone comment on the trackpad's multi-touch behavior? Does it have two finger scrolling and browsing? Is it as smooth as MBP?

The trackpad on the new Z does support multitouch but you need to download the latest version of the synaptics driver in order to use gestures such as two finger scrolling. I also previously owned a 15" unibody macbook pro and I must admit that not even the Z's trackpad is as good however, the trackpad is still fairly responsive.

Ahh- so you've very much been in the same boat as me. Do you miss OSX on your laptop. There are som many subtle things about the MBP such as the light sensor that dims the screen in darkness and the amazing trackpad that I'm not sure if I will be as satisfied with anything else.

The new z has the ambient light sensor as well so the display dims in low light conditions. I honestly don't miss os x that much even though i've used it for about 3 years now. Windows 7 is leaps and bounds better than vista and so far I haven't had any problems with it. I really like the z's small form factor while still having a screen that has a higher resolution than the 15" mbp, and i'm sure you'll notice a huge difference coming from a 13" mbp. Performance wise, this laptop blows away my old mbp especially with the ssd's in raid.

I love the trackpad of the macbook. It really respond very well. let me try out mine when i receive my Z series and let you know

Awesome- thanks for the responses. I'm not worried much about the performance as I have the Intel SSD on my MBP so its screaming fast. OSX boots up in under 15 seconds
How is the Multitouch Trackpad on the new Z
