    Recently hanging out in the Asus section and checking out Sony because of the VAIO FZ, I see that many posts are about problems rather than just information pages...

    How does the Sony build compare? Is it solid or just crap?

    well... the fz is acceptable, the mouse buttons are cheap, keyboard feels cheap, and the screen protection on the sides bends and is thin plastic. it feels kind of solid though, not thinkpad solid, not even macbook pro solid, but its akin to midrange asus notebooks (meaning not the v, g, or w series)
