    For sony, how often does it change its laptop model, for example the ar series, is about 1 and a half years old, when is a new model coming out?

    They update their series every so often, usually every 2 seasons though this varies a little from model to model. Sony will bring out a laptop of a certain model and update these every so often and you will notice that by the change in numbers, e.g. for their 17" machine the AR1, AR2, AR3 and AR4 which is now the latest in Europe. When doing a more major change than just a few components (usually design-wise) they may also change the letters, i.e. the S-series is the forerunner of today's SZ-series, the A-series is the forerunner of the AR-series, and so on.
