My niece gave me her old VAIO PCG-XG29 so I could work in bed where I spend the better part my time these days due to chronic health problems.

It only has 128 megs of RAM and I'm trying to run Windows 2000 on it, so it runs painfully slowly.

I checked around on the web to find some more RAM, and every place I looked says that the PCG-XG29 has two 128 meg RAM slots.

But when I ran an online program that purports to check the RAM on my computer it gave me this report:

    Computer Model: PCG-XG29(UC)
    Computer Version:
    Motherboard Model: PCG-XG29(UC)
    Motherboard Version:
    CPU: Intel Pentium III 750Mhz
Installed Memory: 3 slots: 128 MB, empty, empty
    Matched - Machine: VAIO PCG-XG29
    Matched - Model: http://www.memoryx.net/sonvapcmem313.html

Is it really possible that this little laptop has three RAM slots?

Run the crucial memory advisor. It tells u how many banks u have and what's in them.
