    hi,
I did a semi-clean install as suggest by one of the posts and everything is working fine.
I do notice that # of processes up and running right after I bootup is around 53. Is that too high? I kept Roxio software and allowing windows to manage my wireless but the intel wireless program is still runing. I also have MacFree Virus software. Not sure why I have 53 processes.

How many processes do you have and how fast is your boot up? Can you tell me with processes are necessary? I'll post up the list when I get home.

    thanks

I have twenty-three processes, but my bootup is ridiculously slow.

    I HAVE tried using Bootvis.

Could it have something to do with me disabling "disk cache writing"?

I just did a re-install back to original.

I have yet to delete/clean out the unwanted pre-installed programs, however I have already added a few programs.

    67 or so at present.

    I'll post after cleaning up.

Ooo --- been meaning to ask if anyone knows what intel-wireless applications/processes/whatever you can safely remove from the msconfig file. I also use windows to manage my WiFi, but have been scared to uncheck the intel proset apps from the startup file... although I'm not sure why, at this point.

Those msconfig options don't controll drivers/hardware anyway, right? It'd be nice to be able to turn off a couple more, if the intel-wifi options aren't necessary.
