    you'll want at least 512MB of RAM, $200 sounds about reasonable, checkout www.crucial.com or www.sonystyle.com to see how much memory costs to buy by itself instead of configuring it with the notebook...you might save money that way.

    For regular use 512MB should suffice. If you'd like to open several programs at the same time 1GB would prevent the notebook from slowing down. I bought another 512MB at crucial.com ($106)and think that was a good decision.
